Even though I am not an architect I had the amazing opportunity to see my design concept come to life on this booth designs. It's fascinating to see something you had imagined being built!
ABRAPP 2010 | Olinda- PE, Brazil.Back in 2010, the company I worked for (Risk Office) launched their new brand identity and logo design. As a marketing action, the company was one of the sponsors of a national pension funds conference called ABRAPP. In less then two months we idealised, conceptualised and built our company's booth and all communications materials such as brochures, ballots and a souvenir pencil!
The Pencil Board
This was a great idea, but a surprisingly big challenge. Because of the recently launched logo design and visual identity the concept behind this project was to promote this brand new look! So... to I decided to use the logo to interact with current and new costumers that would be on the conference fair. The idea was to create a board, shaped as our logo, and that it would be filled with removable pencils. The pencils would be taken by the visitors as souvenirs and the logo therefore would be deconstructed. It symbolised our visitors taking a piece of our work back home. My biggest challenge was to create the hole's pattern into which each pencil would be placed on. I wanted the result to be smooth, and geometrically beautiful. Sometimes, designers are not that great in maths, though.
But with a little help of a mathematician coworker, and a lot of experimentations, we did it! The result was exactly what I had in mind! ABRAPP 2011 | Florianopolis - SC , Brazil. The next year we did...again! The concept behind this project was to evidence the greatness of our relationship with our clients. The theme was "GREAT is the partnership we have with our clients" and, so, we built, in the middle of our booth, a huge bag where we would store big bags our visitors could take home as a souvenir.
ABRAPP 2012 | Sao Paulo - SP, Brazil. In 2012, the company's marketing strategy was being revised. As the ABRAPP conference approached, the company's directive board decided to sponsor once more, but without a broad marketing campaign. We combined some of the best features of the last two booth design and were, once more, present!
ABRAPP 2013 | Florianopolis- SC, Brazil. This year, we tried something different. We developed a concept of walk through augmented reality. The project was to have some illustrations on the walls that would work with a AR App that visitors could download in their smartphones. Unfortunately, this project passed through so many changed due to our deadlines and, well... we had to simplify the project. Even though... the result was quite good!
